Sinopec has completed expansion works at a refinery in China by adding 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) crude unit.
The company said it plans to raise throughput in the fourth quarter at the Jiujiang refinery in the Jiangxi province.
The site is expected to process around 20% more crude oil in the fourth quarter as a result.
In addition to the 100,000 bpd crude distillation unit, new facilities at the plant included a 1.7 million tonne-per-year residue fuel hydrotreating unit and a 2.4 million tpy hydrocracking unit, designed to produce higher grade fuels.
