The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has found a number of regulatory violations on board the newbuild production unit for the Goliat field development.
The safety body made the findings after an audit of electrical installations on the unit for the project run by Eni in the Barents Sea.
An audit had been carried out to ensure compliance with the electrical installation requirements in the petroleum regulations.
A number of non-conformities were found in September this year after checks were carried out on the Goliat FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) unit.
The list of concerns raised included its emergency lighting, electrical installations, maintenance of electrical equipment, bridging of safety functions, escape routes from high-voltage installation rooms and ignition source control.
The PSA also found improvements could be made in connection with evacuation routes, test method for heating cables, organisation of electrical staff and overview of temporary equipment.
