Production has been shut down on the Ninian Central platform in the UK North Sea for maintenance work on the asset’s fire pumps.
CNR International, which operates the platform, said production would resume as soon as the current work had been completed.
The Ninian Central platform is 249miles off the coast of Aberdeen.
A spokesman for the company said: “CNR International UK can confirm that it has shut down production on the Ninian Central platform due to maintenance work currently being carried out on the asset’s fire pumps.
“Production will resume as soon as the maintenance work is complete. The health and safety of the workforce is a core value of CNRI.”
The Ninian Central platform is the most notable platform in the Ninian field, at three-quarters of a million tonnes of concrete.
Kishorn yard in Wester Ross constructed the platform which was one of the biggest projects ever worked on at the site.
