Nighthawk Energy said it has plugged and abandoned the Happy Jack 7-10 well in the Monarch joint development area.
The company said the well, which was spudded last month, was drilled to a total depth of 8,400 feet.
The well encountered oil shows in the Marmaton and Cherokee zones within the Pennsylvanian section.
The Spergen formation was present in the Mississippian section of the well and had no oil shows.
After an evaluation was run it was determined there were no zones in the well that would warrant the running of production casing and initiating a completion so the well was plugged and
abandoned.
The North Star 1-14 well commenced drilling earlier this month and is permitted to a total depth of 8,900 feet.
Nighthawk Energy said its average daily production levels for the year are likely to be lower than market expectations with a range of between 1,700-1,800 barrels per day.
