Bibby Offshore has launched a jobs consultation with staff over redundancies from its North Sea operations.
It is understood around 120 jobs are under consultation with around 40 job losses expected across all departments.
Staff were informed of the decision at a meeting which took place earlier this week.
A spokesman for Bibby Offshore said: “The whole oil & gas industry is experiencing an ongoing period of adjustment due to the sustained lower oil price environment which is now expected to last well into 2016.
“We appreciate that this consultation process will be a difficult time for all employees at Bibby Offshore and we will continue to help all those affected as much as we can throughout the process.”
It comes a day after KCA Deutag said up to 69 jobs were at risk on its EnQuest operations.
The Aberdeen-based company is currently the drilling contractor on EnQuest’s Thistle and Heather platforms.
A previous jobs consultation was launched by Bibby Offshore earlier this year with up to 20 people warned they were at risk.
