Oil major BP has awarded two contracts to KCA Deutag worth $1billion.
The first contract awarded has been given to the firm’s offshore division and is for the operations and maintenance of seven platforms operated by BP in the Caspian Sea pursuant to Product Sharing Agreements.
Meanwhile the second contract has been awarded to RDS, KCA Deutag’s engineering and design specialist, for enginerring support services on all drilling packages for projects in the Caspian Sea which are operated by BP from the region.
The contract will last from now until September 2017 with two extension options of one year each.
KCA Deutag employs around 750 people in Azerbaijan where the work will be carried out.
