A joint venture between Socar and Cape has been awarded a two year extension contract worth $90million by oil major BP for the provision of fabric maintenance services for its assets in Azerbaijan.
The work will include both its onshore and offshore assets in the region.
Chief executive of Cape, Joe Oatley, said: “We are delighted to announce the award of this contract extension which demonstrates BP’s confidence in the quality and efficiency of the services provided by our SOCAR Cape joint venture.”
Earlier this month, BP resumed operations at its Chirag oil field in Azerbaijan.
The field, which is in the Azeri part of the Caspian Sea, had been shut temporarily for maintenance work.
