Det Norske has received consent from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use the Transocean Winner mobile drilling facility for drilling and completion of the Volund field.
The Transocean Winner is a semi-submersible facility of the GVA 4000 type, and was built at Gotaverken Arendal in 1983.
It underwent a significant upgrade in 2006.
The PSA said it had now granted Det Norske oljeselskap ASA consent for the drilling operations in compliance with the company’s application.
