Poland is said to be considering mergers between its three biggest state-run oil and gas companies.
A number of options are being considered by the government as to what shape the move would take.
Poland’s Treasury Minister Dawid Jackiewicz said a number of concepts will be looked at for PKN Orlen, Lotos and PGNiG.
He said: “I have started works on this concept to find out what positive effects one could expect. This is about strengthening our position in these companies in order to prevent attempts of hostile takeovers.”
Results of the analysis are expected to be ready by the end of the first quarter.
