A milestone has been marked in an industry wide effort to maximise economic recovery in the UKCS.
Taqa said the first imports of fuel gas have been delivered to participating Northern North Sea (NNS) platforms.
The company is the buyers representative for the Operational Gas Group (OGG).
Taqa, alongside CNR International, Dana Petroleum and EnQuest, is involved in the effort.
Jim Goldie, joint venture lead at TAQA and the lead for the OGG, added: “Drawing on the wealth of experience among all those involved and collaborating to identify and overcome key issues has been central to the OGG’s success.”
The OGG was one of the winners of the Maximising Economic Recovery Award at the annual Oil & Gas UK awards in November last year.
The award, in partnership with the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), highlights the positive behaviours of companies who are pioneering innovative and more collaborative ways of working in the UKCS.
Peter Jones, managing director of TAQA’s European business, said: “This milestone recognises the exceptional contribution of the OGG participants to work together over the course of 2015 to reduce imported fuel gas costs in an important region where gas availability is limited yet essential to the continued operation and long-term production efficiency of a number of Northern North Sea platforms.”
