Eni has terminated a contract of the Ocean Rig Olympia.
Ocean Rig, which provides offshore deepwater drilling services, said the decision had been taken in response to the “dramatic fall” of the crude oil price.
As a result Eni is said to have reassessed its drilling activities and taken the decision to exercise its right of termination the contract of the Ocean Rig Olmpia.
Earlier this week Eni Norge received approval from the Norwegian Environmental Authorities to move ahead with work on the Goliat field.
The termination contract announcement comes on the same day Ithaca Energy and BW Offshore agreed to the termination of an agreement for the BW Athena FPSO.
