Norwegian operator Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions a contract for a front-end engineering and design contact for the proposed subsea tie-back of the Trestakk field in the Norwegian Sea.
Aker Solutions was also commissioned to conduct concept studies for a low well production project at the same facility.
Walther Gifstad, Aker Solutions manager for MMO in Central Norway, said the announcements were “extremely important” for the company in Trondheim.
He said the company aimed to exceed Statoil’s expectations and mobilise expertise from Stavanger and Bergen.
Both contracts are expected to start immediately.
