Hurricane Energy has launched a recruitment campaign for a chief financial officer.
It comes after the planned retirement of Nicholas Mardon-Taylor on January 31.
Chief executive Robert Trice said: “Nicholas has been with Hurricane from the start and throughout a period in which we have achieved very significant milestones which have set us on a path towards Lancaster field development. We are enormously grateful for his contributions and wish him very well in his retirement.”
The UK-based oil and gas company focuses on hydrocarbon resources in naturally fractured basement reservoirs.
To date, the group’s approach has been to focus on areas where oil had been found in basement structures by previous operators but not progressed on the basis that the prevailing opinion at the time was that the discoveries were not commercial.
The firm has since amassed a portfolio of exploration and appraisal projects focused on fractured basement prospectivity West of Shetland.
Hurricane has maintained 100% ownership and operatorship of all of its assets to date.
