SacOil has hit its initial production target for the Lagia field onshore Egypt and has completed the phase two development programme on the project.
The company said all five thermal wells drilled had successfully intersected hydrocarbons.
It achieved its wellhead target of 1,000bopd after all 10 wells drilled at Lagioa were put in production at the end of February.
Chief executive Thabo Kgogo said: “We are pleased to have achieved our stated production target, which represents another step towards our strategic aim to become a leading pan African oil and gas company engaged in upstream, midstream and downstream activities,” said SacOil Chief Executive Thabo Kgogo.
Sacoil’s focus will be to optimise production commensurate with the current low oil price environment, Kgogo added.
