Eni is the latest firm to be the fall victim militant attacks in Nigeria.
The pipeline is located in the country’s southern Bayelsa state.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) confirmed the attack. However, no one has yet taken credit for the explosion.
Spokesman Desmond Agwu said: “There was a blast (on the) pipeline and my men were exchanging fire with some of the hoodlums.”
It is the latest in a string of attacks in the Niger Delta.
Yesterday, Niger Delta Avengers took credit for an attack on Chevron’s assets. It’s one of five attacks they have been responsible since Sunday. Read more here.
