Sound Energy said its second Tendara well has now been drilled to the first casing point onshore Morocco.
Earlier this month the company revealed its plans for the second well.
The company said the TE-7 well was at a measured vertical depth of 462metres.
Casing has been successfully cemented in the Aalenian dolomite formation.
The company will now proceed to drill towards the second casing point at a measured vertical depth of 2,150 metres.
The company says well TE-7 includes proving sufficient gas volumes and well deliverability to enable finalisation of the field development plan and a concession application and demonstrating the benefits of sub-horizontal drilling.
