Sirius Petroleum has been given the go-ahed to drill its proposed Ororo-2A well in Nigeria.
The green light from Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Reserves paves the way for the first appraisal well in the Ororo Field to be drilled.
Sirius chief executive, Bob Kuti, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to reach this major milestone towards developing the Ororo Field and building significant value for shareholders.”
Guarantee Petroleum chairman, Samuel Omobomi, added:”We look forward to developing the Ororo Field to first oil with Sirius Petroleum and Owena Oil & Gas and concluding the initial work programme on our shallow offshore asset.”
Approval for the well will expire April next year.
