The Texas Railroad Commission assessed $933,738 in fines involving 536 enforcement dockets against operators.
A total of $222,901 was attributed to operators failing to appear at Commission enforcement proceedings.
The Commission has primary oversight and enforcement powers for the state’s sector, including intrastate pipeline safety.
“Operators were ordered to come into compliance with Commission rules and assessed $75,837 for oil and gas and LP-Gas rule violations. Pipeline operators and excavators were assessed $635,000 for violations of the Commission’s Pipeline Damage Prevention rules,” a statement read.
