The number of rigs operating in the US went up this week, according to Baker Hughes.
US rigs were up five from last week to 511, with oil rigs up two to 418, gas rigs up three to 92, and miscellaneous rigs flat on one.
Last week the tally fell by two.
Year-on-year the US rig count is down 327 rigs from last year’s 838, with oil rigs down 223, gas rigs down 105, and miscellaneous rigs up one.
The US offshore rig count is 20, unchanged from last week, and down 11 rigs year-on-year.
Canada’s rig count came in at 138 – up six from last week, but 38 down from last year.
