US energy companies idled eight drilling rigs last week, including seven oil rigs and one natural gas rig, in a delayed reaction to lower energy prices a few weeks ago.
That brought the US rig count down to 915, and the oil rig count to 749, according to Baker Hughes.
In Texas, the rig count fell by three to 452, including a two-rig drop in the Permian Basin in West Texas.
Drillers also took down rigs in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico and North Dakota.
