Engineering and technical services firm Wood has announced its expansion into Brazil and western Canada in an effort to service asset integrity solutions.
Wood claim that the expansion “follows major successes in the region” and will include the implementation of downstream risk based inspection program and subsea integrity management systems.
Bob MacDonald, CEO for Wood’s Specialist Technical Solutions business, said: “I am delighted we are expanding the reach of our asset integrity capabilities in this region, with two new teams sharing office locations with existing colleagues in Rio de Janeiro and Calgary.
“Initially, the teams will focus on mechanical integrity, risk assessment, risk based inspection, field engineering and inspection solutions work. Our Calgary office is already home to our vibration, dynamics and noise capability, and we have significant experience in the Canadian mining sector. We are actively seeking opportunities to expand our service offering throughout the asset integrity solutions spectrum.”
The expansion move is part of an effort by Wood to increase its portfolio in Canada and South America.
MacDonald added: “Wood has been very active in Rio de Janeiro for several years, delivering operations and maintenance projects offshore in addition to established subsea capability. The demand for in-country asset integrity capability with local delivery is growing significantly and we look forward to supporting the existing team with our specialist experience.”
