Brazilian oil firm Petrobras has said today that it intends to open up a number of onshore and offshore oil prospects to potential developers.
Speaking to Reuters, Petrobras said that it ‘initiated the sale of a 50% of production and exploration rights’ within the Tartaruga Verde and Espadart offshore fields.
With production within the Tartaruga Verde filed expected to be up to 100,000 barrels per day and the Espadart field with more than 10,000 barrels per day expected, Petrobas said in a securities filing.
Petrobras also confirmed that it had commenced the bidding phase for two onshore oil prospects.
The oil firm also confirmed its intention to shed 100% of the Baúna field in the Santos basin, which produced an average of 34,000 barrels per day in January.
