Offshore engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore has opened an office in Taiwan to help the company drum up more work in oil and gas and renewables.
Aqualis Offshore, which has an office in Aberdeen, said the new base in Taiwan would also help its sister company, Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC), manage its work in the region.
OWC, also owned by Oslo-listed parent company Aqualis ASA, recently won a contract to provide a Taiwanese firm with consultancy services related to wind turbine installation vessels.
Phil Lenox, Asia Pacific director at Aqualis Offshore, said: “Taiwan has a rapidly growing offshore wind sector as well as certain requirements for offshore engineering and marine survey services. We believe that our experience can be utilised well in Taiwan.”
