DNV GL and Goldwind International have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together to improve the Chinese firm’s software.
The Norway-based certification body will help the firm to develop its software portfolio to allow it to monitor their wind assets in real time.
DNV GL’s executive vice president in Asia said: “With Goldwind being one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers in the World, DNV GL is proud to support them in their international expansion, adopting novel technologies to increase asset performance and therefore efficiency of the renewable energy generation.”
In a statement Goldwind said that the world’s emphasis had shifted to optimising existing windfarms – with a greater focus on safety and asset value.
The asset management and maintenance software portfolio developed by DNV GL will be adopted by the Chinese company to support the development, installation, monitoring and maintenance services for their international wind projects.
