UK oil field service giant Petrofac will supply staff for a gas field project in the South China Sea as part of a three-year deal with Husky Energy’s Chinese subsidiary.
The Liuhua 29-1 project is located at the Pearl River Mouth Basin, about 300 kilometres south-east of Hong Kong.
Petrofac specialists will support the project through execution and pre-commissioning, through to commissioning and start-up.
The programme includes subsea equipment supply, umbilicals and flexibles supply; and overall engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI).
The team will be co-located with Husky’s project team in Shekou, China as well as in the main contractors’ offices throughout the execution of the project.
Mani Rajapathy, managing director Petrofac Engineering and Production Services East division, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to support Husky Oil China with their operations offshore and the development of the Liuhua 29-1 project.
“This builds on our other recent project management contract awards and represents the continued growth of our portfolio track record in the Asia Pacific region.
“We look forward to deploying our expertise and playing a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of this important deep-water gas project.”
