Offshore marine and engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore has opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of ongoing international expansion.
Malaysia is the 14th country Aqualis, which is part of Oslo-listed Aqualis, has entered since the company was established in 2013.
“Malaysia holds substantial proven oil and gas reserves from its offshore fields. There are a lot of activities offshore the Peninsular basin in the west and the Sarawak and Sabah basins in the east,” said Asia Pacific director Phil Lenox.
“We have already had numerous requests to support existing clients operating offshore Malaysia, and having an official presence in KL will facilitate servicing all existing and new clients in Malaysia more efficiently,” added Lenox.
The Kuala Lumpur office initial focus will be on transportation and installation, marine warranty services and engineering.
Last month Aqualis opened a new office in Doha, Qatar.
