ADC Energy has secured a three-year contract to deliver rig integrity and inspection services to a division of Malaysian national oil company Petronas.
Delivered with local partner, Onyx, the award will see Aberdeen-headquartered ADC provide includes inspection and operational assurance audits of mobile offshore drilling units for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB).
ADC did not disclose the value of the contract, but said it would manage delivery via its Kuala Lumpur office with support from Onyx.
Founded in 1985, the northeast firm – formerly known as Aberdeen Drilling Consultants – has grown to establish offices in Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore alongside its Granite City HQ. It is currently the only provider in the market to solely specialise in rig inspection and operational assurance services.
Having secured its latest contract with Petronas, and a host of other recently awarded projects across the globe, the firm said it is looking to increase its 85-strong staff base by a further 25%.
In particular, it is looking to appoint new team members in Malaysia, as well as new positions in UK, Europe, USA, and Australia to support its continued global growth.
Director Austin Hay said: “Obtaining this contract with PCSB is a huge step in expanding ADC Energy’s operations across the Asia Pacific region. As a company we are driven by our pursuit of technical excellence which was the key driver in us securing this contract.”
“I am delighted that PCSB share this value, have a desire to improve and place their trust in us,” he added.
“We are looking forward to becoming an integral part of the PCSB Wells team, where we can apply our technical knowledge, lessons learned and innovative new technology to support them in improving rig efficiency and safety across their global operations.”
