Woodside has appointed former Shell executive Ann Pickard as non-executive director.
Pickard retired from Shell on February 1 after 15 years with the firm. She was previously the firm’s executive vice president and was responsible for Shell’s Arctic exploration efforts, which were later mothballed.
Prior to Shell, she spent 11 years with Mobil, leaving before its merger with Exxon.
Woodside chairman Michael Chaney said: “The directors are delighted that we have been able to attract a person of Ms Pickard’s background and experience to the company’s board.”
Pickard is also a member of the Chief Executive Women, the Global Agenda Council on the Arctic for the World Economic Forum, the Advisory Council of the Eurasia Foundation, and Catalyst. Ms Pickard was a director of Westpac Banking Corporation between 2011 and 2014.
