Transerv Energy said four days of work was lost at its Warro-6 well after a metal object was accidently dropped down the hole.
The company said running of tubing at the onshore well in Western Australia was now almost complete, following the delay.
Transerv said while testing is undertaken at Warro-6, the completion rig will move to Warro-5 to run tubing and prepare the well for testing.
Warro is Australia’s largest undeveloped gas field with resources of 11.6trillion cubic feet of gas in place.
The programme at Warro is being funded by Alcoa of Australia, which can earn up to 65% of the project.
