Spanish oil firm Repsol has handed in a draft decommissioning plan for the Rev field in the Norwegian North Sea.
Gas from Rev is carried to Chrysaor’s Armada platform, in the UK North Sea, via a 5.5mile long pipeline, where it is processed.
The decommissioning plan, submitted today to the UK energy department, covers the three mile long pipeline and
an umbilical that run from a point 650ft east of Armada to the border between the UK and Norwegian continental shelves.
Rev was discovered in 2001 and production started in 2008.
Production from the field will be halted by March 31, 2020, at the latest.
Repsol’s Norwegian division is the operator with a 70% stake, while project partner Petoro has 30%
