A Norwegian yard owner and a Dutch heavy lift crane vessel operator have signed the contract to decommission a UK North Sea platform.
AF Gruppen and Heerema Marine Contractors signed a letter of intent with Fairfield Energy in September for the Dunlin Alpha decommissioning job.
The consortium has now firmed up the agreement by inking a formal contract, which will see them removeĀ 20,000 tonnes worth of topside modules.
The engineering will commence immediately and the platform is to be removed and scrapped between 2021-24.
