Well-Safe Solutions has hailed a “landmark” moment for the company, with footage of its Well-Safe Guardian rig heading off for its first UK contract.
The Aberdeen-headquartered company has released a video of the rig departing the Cromarty Firth, heading for the Repsol Sinopec-operated Hannay field
A momentous landmark for @wellsafe_decom today, as years of work is realised with the mobilisation of the #WellSafeGuardian to the Hannay field.

Well-Safe announced a “ground-breaking” contract award with Repsol Sinopec in September to decommission 14 wells at the Buchan and Hannay fields.
Weeks later, it was followed up by a deal with CNR International to plug and abandon up to 14 wells on the Banff and Kyle fields.
The contracts were hailed as a “step-change” for the sector in allowing a campaign approach to well decommissioning.
Prior to the contract award, the rig had a fairly storied history, used as a staging ground for the TV show “SAS:Who Dares Wins”, and helping the visual effects team from the “Black Widow” Hollywood film.
Well-Safe Guardian is one of two rigs in the company’s portfolio alongside the Well-Safe Protector.
In November, the firm said it is now in the “final push towards mobilisation” for the Well-Safe Protector, recently refurbished at Invergordon.
The company has around 200 employees and recently said it plans to continue to expand its headcount.
