Statoil plans to build another platform on the Johan Sverdrup field, according to reports.
The Norwegian operator is said to be looking at a preferred solution which would expand the field centre with a processing platform.
Norwegian publication Sysla said the additional platform would be part of the second phase of the project development.
Johan Sverdrup has already seen contracts awarded for more than $50billion and is expected to provide more than 50,000 jobs.
Earlier this month, Statoil awarded a string of major contracts for its Oseberg Vestflanken 2, Johan Sverdrup and Gina Krog developments.
