Aibel has been awarded work on a study for Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup development.
The company is one of those working on a C study for the second phase of the field’s development.
Earlier this week it was revealed the Norwegian operator was also considering an additional platform in the second phase of the development.
Aibel’s assignment will be to consider a module-based solution for a new process platform at the field centre for future phases for Johan Sverdrup.
The results of the study are expected to form an important input in the decision making process for Statoil’s choice of concept for the next development phase.
Nils Arne Hatleskog, Aibel’s executive vice president of field development, said: “This is a significant assignment. We’re proud to be one of key participants to supply the terms for this
giant investment. Our work will provide important guidelines for Statoil’s choice of its future solution for the phase two development.”
