Semco Maritime has won a contract to perform repairs and service the Island Innovator rig.
The rig is expected to arrive at the Semco Maritime shipyard at Hanøytangen, Bergen from next month.
It is currently midway through its current drilling contract with Lundin Petroleum.
Semco said the drilling rig is then expected to remain warm stacked after the yard stay until the beginning og the third quarter of 2016 when it will recommence its work.
Vice President, Nikolaj Vejlgaard, said: “The rig arrives at Hanøytangen from an assignment for Lundin Petroleum in the Norwegian part of the North Sea to undertake minor refurbishment and maintenance.”
“Hanøytangen’s facilities include both dock and dry dock, which are tailored for assignments such as this where a rig arrives for a brief stopover, a special periodic survey or large-scale upgrade work before returning to operations.”
