DNV has won a string of contracts off Statoil for its landmark Johan Sverdrup development worth NOK60million.
The firm will perform the verifications for all four topsides, three bridges, three of the four jackets and the topside installation.
Regional manager Kjell Eriksson said: “The contract demonstrates that our investment in technology, service development and efficient operations is making us competitive also in this cost challenged market. We sincerely look forward to supporting Statoil and the Johan Sverdrup partners on this important project.”
DNV will also be responsible the extended site assessment of the project’s jack-up rig.
Johan Sverdrup is one of the five biggest oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf. With expected resources of between 1.7 – 3.0 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
It’s located on the Utsira Height in the North Sea, about 155 kilometres west of Stavanger. Oil from the field will be piped to the Mongstad terminal in Hordaland. The gas will be transported via Statpipe to the Kårstø processing plant in North Rogaland.
Peak production is estimated to reach between 550,000 and 650,000 barrels daily.
