Statoil has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for the drilling of a wildcat well.
The company has been given permission for well 30/11-13 which will be drilled using the Songa Delta drilling facility.
The Norwegian operator is the operator with a 50% ownership interest of 50% while Det Norske holds the other 50%.
The licence consists of block 30/11 and this will be the thirteenth exploration well to be drilled within the licence area.
