Strike action has been avoided in Norway hours before a deadline ended over a pay dispute.
Unions Industri Energi and Safe managed to reach a settlement after workers threatened to take strike action.
Asle Reime from Industri Energi said workers had “challenged the Norwegian model” which had been absolutely “vital” for employees.
Around 7,000 employees on permanent and mobile installations in the North Sea is covered by the so-called rig settlement.
