The University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University are offering up seven free places to study for an MSc in Oil and Gas Innovation.
The pair have teamed-up to offer the fully funded places to Scottish and EU students in the next academic year.
Professor Judith Masthoff, from the University of Aberdeen, said: “The University of Aberdeen is at the forefront of energy-related teaching and research, and our MSc in Oil and Gas Innovation will equip graduates with the skills to generate and commercialise innovations for the oil and gas industry.
“We are delighted that the Scottish Funding Council has agreed to provide full funding for seven places on next year’s programme, which is available on a full or part-time study basis.
“The oil and gas industry remains a key part of Scotland’s economy, and I would encourage anyone who is interested in playing a part in its future to apply for one of the seven funded places we have available in the next academic term.”
While primarily research-led, the programme will include modules on business innovation and technical modules related to the specific areas of research being pursued by candidates.
Dr James Njuguna, of RGU’s School of Engineering, added: “This MSc will focus on nurturing the innovation that the oil and gas industry needs to push it forward in the coming years and is a great opportunity for those looking to establish or develop their career in the sector.
“RGU has an extremely strong reputation in oil and gas across a range of disciplines and we are looking forward to launching this exciting new course.”
