Sound Energy has started its onshore drilling campaign in Italy, the firm today confirmed.
Its Badile exploration well site is located in Northern Italy, some 15 kilometres to the south of Milan. The well will test the hydrocarbon potential of the Conchodon Dolomite reservoir of Lower Jurassic-Triassic age.
The well is planned to be drilled and logged to a total depth of 4,445m (4,378m total vertical depth) with drilling and logging expected to take approximately 100 days.
If gas is encountered, a further 25 days will be required for the completion and testing phase.
