Neptune Energy has kicked off production from its Adorf Z16 well in Germany.
The field, discovered in 2020 through the previous Z15 well in the north-western municipality of Hoogstede, is described by Neptune’s in-country managing director Andreas Scheck as “one of the most exciting discoveries in recent years”.
Initial flow rates form production tests indicate flow rates of 2,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day from the Adorf Z16 well, and is expected to take Neptune’s daily production in the licence up to 4,000 boepd.
A third well is scheduled to be drilled in the second quarter of this year.
Mr Scheck added: “(Adorf) is one of Neptune’s most promising developments in Germany and demonstrates our desire to grow our business here.”
Neptune Energy owns 100% of the Adorf gas field.
