Wintershall has delayed a decision on a concept selection for its Skarfjell project off the coast of Norway.
The company said the move was in a bid to reduce costs as the oil price decline continues.
Project manager Astrid Edvardsen said:”We are to choose between a tie-back to Gjoea, a semisubmersible or an FPSO.”
Wintershall expects to reduce costs by 40% from its original estimate, and said a concept decision is now expected to come in the third or fourth quarter of 2016.
Partners in the two licenses include Capricorn, Edison , DEA, Bayerngas, Explora and Repsol.
