A man working on a Statoil rig in South Korea has died following an incident last month where he was injured.
The Norwegian operator said it had received the news following a previous incident on one of its Cat J rigs at the Samsung shipyard in Geoje.
The welder had been hired by a subcontractor to the shipyard.
The accident had occurred on April 21st during the construction of the new rig.
Statoil said a representative from the company had travelled to the yard following the announcement.
