The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has found a number of improvement points and non-conformities after carrying out an audit on ExxonMobil’s management of cranes and lifting operations.
The safety body said the objective of the audit was to verify compliance with the company’s own and the authorities’ requirements with regard to operational, administrative and technical
factors.
Two non-conformities were identified in connection with offshore cranes and communication.
In addition, three improvement points were identified in relation to technical conditions, documentation and competence.
ExxonMobil has been given a deadline of August 1st to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.
Earlier this week, Rowan Drilling was hit with an improvement notice after an incident involving a crane in the North Sea.
