Tenaris has said one of its employees may have been on a fatal helicopter flight which was en route to a Chevron platform in Angola.
The company, a manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes to the oil and gas industry, said records had indicated a Tenaris field service specialist was reportedly listed as a passenger on the flight.
A spokesman said: “We regret to inform that a Tenaris field service specialist was reportedly onboard a helicopter which crashed en route to a Chevron oil platform off the coast of Angola yesterday.”
The helicopter left Malongo Terminal in Angola’s Cabinda province on Monday but never reached its destination at the Tombua-Landana offshore platform.
The bodies of four passengers were recovered while two are missing.
Search and rescue operations have been continuing with the used of marine vessels and helicopter involved in the efforts.
