A company which provides safe breathing equipment to offshore workers has opened a base in Aberdeen.
Air2Work, part of the Norwegian E Innovation Group, plans to invest £1.5million in the next year to bring its technology to the UK market.
At the moment, the business employs only three people in the Granite City, where it has offices in Great Western Road and a workshop on the Wellheads Industrial Estate, at Dyce, but is looking to add a further six in the coming months.
Air2Work, which was set up two years ago, specialises in breathing-air delivery systems for people working in potentially explosive environments.
UK chief executive Alan Brodie said: “Technicians working in hazardous environments have a vital requirement for high-quality air, which our system delivers at a comfortable temperature – a first for workers in industrial operations.
“It can be very uncomfortable when cold air is blown in a technician’s face for a prolonged period of time, so delivering air at room temperature makes a big difference to their efficiency.”
