Helicopters transport offshore workers to and from oil and gas installations every day, and the industry constantly works to improve helicopter safety.
Now you can find out the latest improvements at an aviation seminar held by Oil & Gas UK at the AECC on Wednesday.
Bond, Bristow and CHC will take delegates behind the scenes of their helicopter operations and provide an insight into the skills required to ensure passenger safety.
Lightning strikes are a natural hazard for helicopters in flight. The Met Office and Bristow will provide delegates with an update on the Triggered Lightning Prediction Project, which provides flight crews with the tools needed to avoid flying near areas of active lightning.
Other presentations focus on plans for enhancing critical component defect detection rates as the EC225 and AW139 helicopters enter their HUMS Advanced Anomaly Detection (AAD) Controlled Service Introduction (CSI) phases.
There will also be a brief overview of the UK Offshore Helicopter Safety Record to the end of 2011.
Oil & Gas UK’s events are an excellent opportunity to network with industry colleagues and keep up to date with the latest developments.
