Occupational health service provider Capita aims to recruit 20 people in Aberdeen after winning a £1.5million contract.
Capita, which already employs 170 people in the Granite City, said yesterday it had signed a deal with Transocean to work with the rig operator’s North Sea division.
Under the agreement, Capita will offer medical support to 11 rigs in UK waters and 1,500 people both offshore and onshore.
The firm said it wanted to add a range of people, including clinical staff, to its north-east workforce to carry out the Transocean contract.
Susan Reid, business-support director for Capita in Aberdeen, said the agreement could lead to further work overseas.
She added: “We’re delighted to have secured this partnership with Transocean. Our aim is to build on this North Sea contract to secure international agreements with Transocean.”
Capita also has a call centre at Forres as part of its business-outsourcing division.
The company said earlier this year it wanted to take on 140 people in Forres to take its workforce in the Moray town up to 300.
