Survival Craft Inspectorate, a global provider of emergency marine evacuation systems, has appointed two new senior executives.
Joining the management team at the Aberdeen-based business are Alasdair MacIntyre and Tio Devaney.
Alasdair has assumed the role of global head of marine safety with a remit to maximise the commercial opportunities presented by maritime safety regulations that come into force in 2014.
With nearly 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the marine, defence and offshore oil and gas sectors, he will also extend the firm’s presence in key international markets and develop new strategic partnerships.
Tio joins as country manager for the Americas, responsible for expanding operations in the United States and Canada.
He was previously passenger ships development manager with Lloyd’s Register in North America.
SCI managing director Angus Campbell said: “Alasdair and Tio have added their own unique capabilities and knowledge to a talented management team that was already characterised by experience, commitment and flair.”
Central to the company’s strategic growth plan is its Safelaunch® lifeboat release system and patent-protected RocLoc hook technology, which together provide a robust and technologically advanced solution in the context of the 2014 legislation related to lifeboat release and retrieval systems.
The firm has nearly 150 staff at 10 locations worldwide including Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
