Offshore union representative Jake Molloy said Eurocopter had made a good effort at trying to restore the industry’s confidence in the aircraft.
He said the company had held open, transparent and honest conversations yesterday morning which will be welcomed by all in the industry.
“I was really reassured by what I heard from Eurocopter this morning. We were able to have the gear parts there in front of us to look at things like welds and such like. It was very informative and we are keen to extend that to the wider industry and share what we learned this morning.
“To Eurocopter’s credit they have invited us to demonstrations both here in Aberdeen and in France to look at the testbeds and be part of the whole verification process. It was a very positive meeting this morning and as Eurocopter has said until everyone is satisfied these things will remain on the ground.”
